All our ponies are handled and trained by The Chairperson and other members of the Group.
In addition to keeping them fit and well, their training programme includes exposure to unusual noises, obstacles and objects both on, off and around the horse.

It is thorough and methodical. Lots of hands-on work with ‘unusual’ and ‘unbalanced’ riding techniques that hopefully produce a pony we can trust fully to look after their disabled rider.

Some Equine Stars of our Group:
Beauty - 14.2HH Dale
The newest member of our Equine team. Beauty has progressed extremely well and has such a smooth, flowing trot.

Dillon - 15.2HH ID X
The BIG softy of the bunch. He is so kind and gentle but very responsive to ride. Our biggest boy, but very comfortable and cuddly!
Patch - 14.2HH
Patch is very versatile and capable, an all round star! He is used for both adults and children.
One of our longer serving ponies.

Ruby - 13HH New Forest
Ruby is another pony new to RDA. She is doing well and seems to know when a disabled child is riding. Her steady smooth trot is just right – and she likes a reward of some lovely school grass afterwards!

Jenny the Cat – she always gets involved !

Jenny loves help to groom and train the ponies by continually rubbing herself up and around their legs.
