At Kingston Maurward Agricultural College, we cater for twelve adults with physical disability. Dorset has very few groups that offer riding to such people.
The problems are diverse (Cerebral Palsy, Stroke, Head Injury, Back Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Paralysis, Accident etc) and they are taught as individuals.
Our policy is to offer riding for as long as they wish, or their condition allows.
This continuity enables them to make significant progress and the long-term association leads to a wonderful camaraderie between the riders and the volunteers.

There is a great demand for this type of riding opportunity for adults in Dorset and our Group has a long waiting list.
We are grateful for the use of the indoor schooling arena at Kingston Maurward, but again all funds are self-generated.
We hope the pictures below show you the riding process for one of our wheelchair bound riders:
From arrival, using the mounting ramp, preparation, mounting (always the tricky bit), actual riding . . . . . and to eventually (and what we aim for) sitting upright, in-balance and UNAIDED out of wheelchair.
