At Meerhay Manor, near Beaminster, up to ten pupils from the Special Needs Unit of Beaminster School ride with us for the first two years of their secondary education.

The majority of these children have learning difficulties as well as behavioural and social deprivation problems. Some are also physically disabled.
These children benefit quite amazingly from their riding. Just riding and being around real ponies has a therapeutic and calming affect on these children.
For the first time in their lives they see that success is achievable. This boosts confidence and self-esteem and dramatically changes their attitude to education as a whole.
We are grateful for the use of the outdoor schooling arena at Meerhay Manor, Beaminster, but again all funds are self-generated.
